Protecting Your Smile During Whitening

Choose Professional Care

Dentists use treatments designed to strike a balance between effectiveness and safety. Professional whitening reduces the risk of sensitivity and ensures your gums are protected. Working with a dental professional also allows for customized treatment plans tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Be Mindful With At-Home Kits

Store-bought kits can be effective, but overuse may wear down the enamel. Always follow directions and avoid whitening products that feel harsh or irritating. If you experience prolonged sensitivity or discomfort, discontinue use and consult your dentist for guidance.

Support With Daily Habits

Simple lifestyle changes help maintain results. Drinking water after coffee or tea, brushing gently, and using a fluoride rinse can all help extend the benefits of your whitening treatment. Consistency with these small habits makes a significant difference in preserving your brighter smile over time.

Additional Safe Whitening Habits to Follow

  • Brush with a soft-bristle toothbrush twice daily
  • Use non-abrasive toothpaste made for sensitive teeth
  • Rinse with fluoride to strengthen enamel
  • Avoid smoking and limit dark-colored drinks
