Emergency Dental Crown Repair

Identifying Your Pain

Evaluating your pain is a crucial first step in treating a shattered or damaged dental crown. Check to see whether drinking water causes any sensitivity or discomfort or if you suffer pain near your crown. This approach can help you decide how serious your dental emergency is.

Visit or Dial the Dentist

If you experience discomfort, itchiness, or sensitivity near your dental crowns, you should visit your dentist immediately to evaluate it properly. To help manage your discomfort and pain, take some over-the-counter painkillers. If you see a crack in one of your dental crowns or feel discomfort coming from this area, don’t wait to notify your dentist.

Check Your Crown

Use a mirror to inspect the cracked crown before phoning your dentist. Once you’re certain your crown is broken, you should use your tongue to feel it to check whether it’s loose. You’re now prepared to call your dentist and discuss your findings after evaluating them.
