Vero Beach Dental Implants | Are Implants Better Than Dentures?

Teeth replacement procedures are now widely available to address issues with missing teeth. Malnutrition, poor oral hygiene, or even underlying diseases could be the culprit of missing one or more teeth. It could greatly impact one’s self-esteem and confidence. Fortunately, Vero Beach dental implants can help you regain your confidence and improve the aesthetic of your mouth and smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants Over Dentures?

In terms of comfort and convenience, dental implants offer more benefits than dentures. They may vary greatly in terms of cost but let us focus more on the long-term benefits. Here are some benefits of choosing dental implants for your teeth replacement procedure.

Conventional Dentures

Some things to remember about dentures are that they are:

  • Messy adhesives to keep them in place
  • Removable
  • Can slip out of the mouth when talking and eating
  • Cause you to look older as wrinkles may form around the mouth and lips. This happens when the bone that once supported the teeth has resorbed
  • Affordable option
  • Make it difficult to eat certain foods

Risks and Warning

Patients with chronic illnesses such as leukemia and diabetes may not be suitable for this procedure. These issues may interfere with healing after surgery. Tobacco use can also slow down the healing process.

Choosing the Right Procedure

No single dental treatment is better than another. Before preparing for a teeth replacement procedure, discuss first with your dentist about the treatment plan and options suitable for your needs.
