Helpful Tips for Living with Dentures

Do your missing teeth make it hard for you to talk or eat? Perhaps, it is time for you to consider getting Vero Beach Dentures! Dentures are affordable and can be durable. If you are looking to improve your quality of life by restoring the appearance and functionality of your teeth, this may be the solution for you

How to Live with Dentures?

Keep Your Dentures Moist

When you’re not wearing your dentures, make sure to keep them moist to prevent them from warping or cracking. Dentures are like your natural teeth! They need to be kept wet to prevent them from breaking. Soak them in a glass of water or a denture cleaning solution.

Visit Your Dentist Every 6 Months

If you take consistent care of your dentures, they will last you a long time! Visit your dentist every six months to check you’re their condition and fit. If your dentures are slipping around inside your mouth, it’s a sign they may need to be adjusted.

Your dentures should be comfortable. So, if they are not, see your dentist right away!

Clean Your Dentures Twice a Day

Although dentures aren’t susceptible to cavities or decay, it’s still essential to clean them twice a day. Plaque and odor-causing bacteria can build up and give you bad breath. Food particles left behind can also stain your dentures. So, always make sure to practice good oral hygiene!

Don’t Forget to Clean Your Gums

Just because you’re missing several teeth doesn’t mean you’re exempt from getting gum disease. Therefore, don’t forget to clean those gums and any remaining teeth with a soft-bristled brush. It will remove any bacteria, plaque, and food particles along your gum line.

Practice Talking with Dentures

When you first start wearing dentures, expect to have a lisp. However, typically this will go away the more you wear them. We recommend you practice reading aloud with your dentures in.
