Understanding the Causes of Loose Dentures

Loose dentures can make eating and speaking difficult, affecting your comfort and confidence. Understanding the causes will help you find the right solutions, and the most common ones are:

  • Bone loss
  • Wear and tear of your dentures

Solutions for Loose Dentures

Denture Adhesives and Pastes

Denture adhesives and pastes provide temporary relief by creating a thin adhesive layer between your dentures and gums. These products improve stability and comfort, reducing movement and giving you more confidence.

Remember, adhesives are not a permanent fix and should be used as directed by your dentist.

Denture Relining

Denture relining involves adding a new layer of material to the base of your dentures to improve their fit. This adjustment helps accommodate changes in your gums, making your dentures more stable and comfortable. Your dentist can perform regular denture relining to maintain a secure fit.

New Dentures

If your dentures are old or damaged, getting a new set may be necessary. Over time, dentures can become worn, affecting how they sit in your mouth. By opting for new dentures that are custom-made to fit your mouth accurately, you can enjoy a better and more secure fit.
