Can Anyone Get Their Teeth Whitening?

Although tooth stains are a common occurrence in coffee and wine drinkers, a lot of these people still find it unattractive and unappealing because it ruins your smile. Luckily, there are a lot of treatments that are offered today that can whiten your teeth in a short amount of time, such as teeth whitening in Fort Pierce. The only question is – will it work for you?

To know whether you’re a good candidate for teeth whitening, here are some factors that you need to consider.

Candidates for Teeth Whitening

Good Candidates

While anyone who suffers from teeth stains will benefit from teeth whitening, there are some who will have a better experience than others. Those who have lighter teeth stains are more likely to have better and faster results than those who have relatively yellowish teeth.

In the end, a good candidate for teeth whitening depends on how healthy their teeth, mouth, and gums are before the procedure.

Poor Candidates

Not all teeth whitening treatments are successful. In some instances, certain candidates aren’t even allowed to undergo this treatment for varying reasons. Patients who suffer from these types of conditions should consult their dentists first before going through with teeth whitening.

Patients who have:

  • Periodontal disease
  • Chronic teeth sensitivity
  • Excessively worn and damaged enamel
  • Teeth that appear translucent
  • Multiple restorations and fillings
  • Oral cancer
