Implants

What are Dental Implants?

If you’ve lost one or multiple teeth, you can easily return to a bright, full smile. There’s no need to live with an empty gap that will ultimately result in bone deterioration. You can get dental implants at Smooth Sailing Dental!

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a restoration option for a missing tooth. It’s essentially an artificial root that stimulates your jawbone, preventing bone loss. Implants are more expensive than alternatives such as bridges or partial dentures, but they are durable, long-lasting, and will drastically improve your oral health.

What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

Vero Beach dental implants have numerous advantages, including the prevention of bone loss. Here are some other benefits that you can look forward to:

  • Increased self-confidence
  • Prevention of shifting teeth
  • Improved speech
  • Easier to eat

The Dental Implant Procedure

There are a couple of steps that need to be taken before the implants are placed. First, if your tooth needs to be extracted, we will need to take care of that first. We will also need to determine if your jawbone is strong enough to support implants.

Once these are taken care of, the implant will be placed in your gum where the original tooth root would have been. We will then cap the implant with a crown, which will be matched to the color, shape, and size of your natural tooth. No one will even be able to tell your tooth is missing!

Looking for Dental Implants in Fort Pierce?

If you have missing teeth or need a tooth extraction, dental implants are a great restoration option that allow you to retain the appearance of having your natural teeth. If you’re interested in getting implants, contact us today to schedule an appointment.
