Practice Administrator
Tim was born and raised in Malone, NY. Upon graduating from high school, he immediately entered the U.S. Navy, where he served for 21 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 1998. Upon his military retirement, Tim continued to work in the aviation and oil/mining/gas industries in Perth, Western Australia, as a technical support/services and human resource manager.
After moving to Florida, he worked in areas of administrative support, recruiting, training, and executive assisting before becoming Dr. Long’s practice administrator in April 2017. Tim received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Personnel Management at National University, San Diego, California, in 1986 and his Master of Health Counseling Degree at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia, in 2008.
Tim also performs a variety of volunteer services for the following:
Knight of the Sovereign Order of Malta, a religious lay order of the Catholic Church. As a knight, Tim has made a lifetime commitment to the care of the sick and the poor locally, nationally, and internationally.

Furthermore, Tim is a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach, where he and his wife Rebecca attend. He also enjoys biblical studies, running, food, and spending time with family and friends.
Business Office Administrator/Registered Dental Hygienist
Barbara is originally from Riverside, Connecticut. She pursued her desire to work in the dental field by receiving her dental hygiene degree in 1991 from Fones School of Hygiene at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut.
She has been working with Dr. Long for over twenty years and is licensed in both the state of Florida and Connecticut. Barbara is a true “jack of all trades” for the practice. She wears many hats in the office and can tell you anything about everything thanks to her varied skills and abilities.
When she is not helping to improve the oral health of our patients, Barbara enjoys spending time with her four grown children and granddaughter, traveling, reading, home renovation, and cake decorating. She is an avid runner and has completed four half marathon races in six months. Barbara currently resides in Port St. Lucie with her husband, David.

Beckie was born and raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She moved to Florida in 2006 to be closer to her snowbird parents and escape the snow herself.
Before working for Smooth Sailing Dental, Beckie was a Tax Consultant for many years.
She is currently a Dame of the Sovereign Order of Malta. As a Dame, Beckie has made a lifetime commitment to care for the sick and the poor.
In her spare time, Beckie is a Catechist for 5th and 6th grade at Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach. Outside of the office, Beckie loves spending time with her husband Tim, and all her Florida family!

Kim was born in Delray Beach, FL but raised in Port St Lucie.
Before coming to Smooth Sailing Dental, Kim worked in the banking industry for 17 ½ years. She is excited to start this new journey in her life.
Kim is a mother, wife and has 4 fur babies. She enjoys spending time with her family and making new memories.

Tracy comes to us originally from Pennsylvania before moving to Florida in 1980. She has spent all her career in the medical field working in the health care side (cardiovascular and other medical groups).
In Tracy’s spare time she enjoys being with her family and friends. She also likes embarking on home improvement projects, traveling to new places, and working on her photography business.

Jenna grew up in Connecticut, enjoying all that New England has to offer. She always wanted a beach life though, and that’s how she ended up here in Florida.After moving with her husband and their two kitties, she worked in banking for 5 years. She took some off to enjoy her growing family, both her young children and her furry four-legged babies, before joining the team at Smooth Sailing Dental. She is an active animal foster with H.A.L.O Rescue and in her free time she enjoys baking for family and friends, reading, and trips to the beach with her family.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Julie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. Her main focus is to assist Dr. Long with all dental procedures in a caring and professional manner. She has done that for over 30 years while also serving as the Hazard Communication Coordinator for the past 25 years.
Julie attributes her lengthy employment to loving the work she does and enjoying the connections she is able to make with the community. She listens intently to each patient and tries her best to make their dental experience as she would want, helping many work through dental phobias.
Julie attributes the success of the practice to the excellent leadership of Dr. Long and the Smooth Sailing’s team commitment to excellence and superior dentistry. She adds further that the team is awesome, possessing many advanced skills.
Julie grew up in San Jose, California. In 1975, during her junior year of high school, she had the opportunity to attend a Vocational School for Dental Assisting. She went on to other fields of study but returned to Dental Assisting in 1979. She then attended San Jose City College and enrolled in the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Program, graduating in 1981.
When Julie is not working, she enjoys going on long walks with her husband and cooking with him. She loves spending time with her grown children and 2-year-old granddaughter. She is a member of Grace Family Church, PSL, and considers them truly as family.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Mira resides in Ft. Pierce with her husband, Mike. Her family roots in Ft. Pierce go back to the early 1900’s in both citrus and vegetable industries. She has two daughters and a step-son, all of whom are full-grown. She also has two grandsons and two dogs (fur-children).
Mira studied Dental Assisting at Indian River State College. She has been working for Dr. Long since 1992. The greatest enjoyment of her profession is being able to learn different ways to achieve even better results on the same procedures. She appreciates the unique and special qualities of every patient.
Mira is also passionate about giving back to the community. She was a member and served on the board of directors for several years with “ The Royal Palms”– an organization that serves the needs of women and children in St. Lucie County since 2002.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being by the ocean.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Angelica was born and raised in the heart of Transylvania, Romania. She received her Dental Assistant Training in Sterling, Northern Virginia. Angelica and her husband moved to Florida in 2017.
She loves being a dental assistant to help patients overcome their dental anxiety, to educate them about dental health, and put smiles on their faces. Angelica is compassionate, people-oriented and a good team player.
In her private life Angelica loves to cook and delight her friends with delicious dishes. She also loves to travel with her husband. They have four children and four grandchildren.
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Sarah is a Florida native, born in Vero Beach and raised in St Lucie County. She is a mom of two lovely daughters and a Mimi (grandmother) of two, which In Sarah’s spare time, you will find her with her grandson, teaching him how to fish and use the bow and arrow, all the while enjoying the outdoors.
Sarah chose a career in Dentistry, which she pursued at Indian River Community College. There she became a certified dental assistant and has been assisting for the last 22 years. She is a welcomed addition to the Smooth Sailing Dental Team.
Time has taught Sarah that life is precious, and we can make a difference in someone's life by giving them confidence with positive words and a beautiful smile! Pleasing people and putting a smile on their face is one of Sarah’s lifelong goals. She loves her career and says, “it is not just a job.”
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Jalisia is an expanded functions dental assistant. She was born and raised in Florida. A couple of years after graduating high school, she enlisted into the United States Army and served for 5 1/2 years. After her enlistment, Jalisia enrolled into college to figure out her next life path. She finally decided upon Dental Assisting. Her ultimate goal is to someday become a Dental Hygienist. Jalisia graduated from IRSC in 2023 as a Certified Dental Assistant.
In her personal time, Jalisia enjoys bowling, crafting and spending time with the people she loves

Christelle was born inPort-au-Prince, Haiti and moved to Fort Pierce, FL at the age of three, whereshe has lived most of her life. She now resides in Port St. Lucie.
Before becoming a dental assistant Christelle was working as a CNA. As she has always had an interest in dentistry, she hopes to advance her education further in the dental field.
Some of Christelles’ hobbies include cooking, crocheting and watching movies. During her free time, she likes spending time with her family and trying new foods.
She is fluent in both English and Creole languages.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kellie is originally from Lakewood, Ohio, but grew up in Ft. Pierce. She graduated from John Carroll High School and received her Associate of Science in Hygiene from Indian River State College. She was Certified by the State of Florida as a Dental Hygienist in 1994.
Kellie has been employed by Dr. Long since 1994, which is nearly half her life. She often reflects on passing his office on her way to IRSC and thinking that the architecture of the office was intriguing. Who knew that one day she would work there.
Kellie is married to Shane Wyatt and they have two children, Ashlyn and Riley. She loves being a soccer and volleyball mom and volunteer. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and family, and taking in our lovely coastal activities.
Kellie played an active role in establishing the new practice name “Smooth Sailing Dental”. She is dedicated to patient education and providing thorough cleanings.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Yeni was born in La Habana, Cuba and moved to Miami, FL at the age of ten, where she lived most of her life. She now resides in Port St. Lucie, FL with her husband Sandy and four children, two boys and two girls.
Yeni remembers having had very low access to adequate dental care when growing up in her country, and because of this, her professional mission in life is to become a source of help and encouragement for those patients that need dental treatment.
She feels happy and excited to be part of the Smooth Sailing Dental family, working and building a solid career path in what she absolutely loves to do, after receiving her Associate of Science Degree in Hygiene from Indian River State College.
Yeni enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends, reading, boating or just being a busy mom.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish languages.
Social Media Consultant
You may not know it, but Christina has worked for Dr. Long behind the scenes since 2010. In fact, she has known Dr. Long her entire life as he is both her dentist and her Dad! Christina was born in Fort Pierce and raised on the Treasure Coast. She graduated from Lynn University in 2008 and completed her MBA at Lynn in 2010. Christina is the Social Media Consultant for Smooth Sailing Dental. She enjoys sharing the fun side of Dentistry, including giving an insight into the busy lives of our staff through her posts.
Christina is a member of the Order of Malta where she made a lifetime commitment to serve the sick and poor and Defend the Faith. She is an active participant in the Vero Beach Area for Malta and volunteers her time in Malta projects and events.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to Dog Shows. Alfie, the family dog became a champion in the fall of 2023 and is now working towards his grand championship. Evi Mai is the newest fur-baby and she just started her Dog Show career. It’s fun to explore the southern states while at the Dog Shows. Christina loves to travel and will never forget her study abroad experience in Dublin, Ireland during her junior year in college. She also loves spending time with her family and friends.
