Here are the things you need to know about having yellow teeth and how we can help you brighten them.

What Causes Yellow Teeth?

Tooth discoloration is caused by eroded tooth enamel because of a heavy plaque and tartar buildup. This could lead to tooth decay when left untreated, which is a gateway for bacterial infection.

Your teeth’ enamel erodes when oral hygiene is poorly practiced. Tobacco and alcohol can also contribute to teeth discoloration, especially when consumed very often. Tooth discoloration can also be a symptom of an underlying health problem.

How to Whiten Your Teeth

Teeth whitening can be done alongside your regular dental checkups to maintain the brightness of your teeth. Before that, your dentist will scale the plaque and tartar buildup to ensure the long-lasting effect of the chemicals used in this dental procedure.

Teeth bonding is another treatment where a prosthodontist fuses composite resin to fix discoloration. Your dentist will also prescribe some over-the-counter products that you can use to practice your oral hygiene.

It is recommended to practice a healthier lifestyle, such as avoiding sugary food, smoking, and drinking alcohol.
