How to Properly Clean Your Dentures

Vero Beach Dentures and dentist´s tools

Although dentures are temporary teeth, you still need to keep them clean because you’ll be using them for a long while. If your Vero Beach dentures aren’t adequately cared for, they may discolor, get damaged, or even worse, get destroyed. Here are some suggestions that you can try to clean your dentures effectively.

Effective Denture Cleaning Techniques

Let Your Dentures Soak All Night

Dentures must be kept moist and clean to maintain their shape and general quality. You must soak your dentures in water or a denture solution overnight after washing them. You can consult your dentist about proper denture care to ensure you’re doing it correctly.

Use a Soft-Bristled Toothbrush

Cleaning your dentures daily is one approach to ensure their sturdiness and cleanliness. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and ordinary toothpaste to wash and rinse your dentures. To prevent harming the base of your artificial teeth, ensure to soak them in water before cleaning.

Gargling With Warm Salt Water

If you don’t clean your dentures after each use, adhesive residues may build up and harm them. You need to wipe the leftovers from your mouth in addition to washing them off your fake teeth. Gargling with warm salt water will help remove the plaque and remaining residue to ensure that there aren’t any foreign materials left in your dentures.
